the space between 

Looking through Lucille Clifton's spirit fragments, notebooks, and drafts, I researched the space between her mind and words, and  displayed how she often left that space blank. Her spirit fragments are "automatic writings" guided by spiritual entities, connecting her to the outer-plane of reality. Her notebooks are largely unfinished, with one notebook only having three written pages. Her poetic drafts show her wandering mind and ever changing ideas.
